A statue of the goddess Laxmi (or Lakshmi), Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. Cast from solid brass, her features are exquisitely and intricately detailed, while her face, hands and feet are polished. Her right hand is raised in the gesture of protection and her left hand holds a pot symbolising abundance. She is beautifully ornamented in precious jewels and she wears rich clothing. Altogether this is a beautiful, regal piece.
